Chandana Prasad further remanded

Former Navy Lieutenant Commander, Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi who was in remand custody in connection with the abduction and forced disappearance of 11 youth, was further remanded till December 04 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today.

Criminal Investigations Department today informed the court that they concluded the investigations into the matter.

CID also stated that indictments against the 14 accused in connection with the abduction and disappeared of 11 youth between 2008 and 2009 have been handed over to the registrar of the Colombo High Court. CID further told that Attorney General has already requested Chief Justice to appoint High Court Trail-at-Bar bench to hear the 11 youth abduction case. CID further stated that 14 suspects have been indicted over this case under 667 counts. CID also stated that Chief Justice has not been appointed High Court Trial at Bar bench yet.

Former Navy Spokesperson D.K.P.Dassanayake, Navy officers Sampath Munasinghe , Sumith Ranasinghe, Dilanka Senaratne, Nalin Prasanna Wickramasuriya, Anton Fernando, Rajapaksha Pathirannehelage Kitsiri, Aruna Thushara Mendis, Kathriarchchilage Gamini, Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias “ Navy Sampath”, Upul Chamida alias “Annachi”, Nandapriya Hettihendi and Sampath Janaka Kumara were appeared before the court today.
