After 70 years in power both main parties yet promising ‘development’ – Lalkantha

None of the two main Presidential candidates would be able to exceed the 50% vote margin, JVP politico K.D. Lalkantha yesterday said.

At the initial stage of the election campaign there was no such situation, however the election campaign has now developed into a three way battle. He made these observations at a media brief held at Devon Hotel, Kandy recently.

Accordingly, Lalkantha requests people to use their first preference for National People’s Power presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake and use their second and third preference for the two main candidates.

Lalkantha observed that the last election to have such a tri-ways competition was in 1982. He pointed out that it is hilarious for those who exchanged the political power over 70 years to come back and ask for power again to develop the country.

Lalkantha also said that people should think about who would win, but who they should make victorious. He also said that the National People’s Power that consists of 32 organizations has the power to defeat the failed political system in the country.

Lalkantha also said that people have rejected the top leaders of United National Party, Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
