The showery condition is expected to enhance to some extent over most parts of the island particularly Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces today and tomorrow , said the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly after 1.00 p.m.
Very heavy falls about 100-150 mm can be expected at some places in Kaluthara, Kegalle, Rathnapura, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Gampaha and Kandy districts.
Heavy falls about 75-100 mm can be expected at some places in Colombo, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Anuradhapura, Mannar and Vavuniya districts.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-central provinces during the morning.
General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
