‘Hooting’ has become the official song of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and many Sri Lanka Freedom Party MPs have become the victims of that tragedy, Colombo District UNP MP Mujibur Rahuman pointed out.
He said senior Parliamentarians such as W.D.J.Senevirathne were seen to be very helpless on the stage recently and was in tears due to this sad situation.
The MP was speaking to the media at the New Democratic Front main election office situated at Vauxhall Street, Colombo, yesterday.
“The majority of SLFPers at grass-roots level is against the party’s decision to join with the SLPP. I expect them to support our candidate Sajith Premadasa for his victory. Another member of the Beruwala PS also joined us on Tuesday,” he said. Meanwhile, commenting on the incidents reported from several areas related to national security, the Parliamentarian pointed out that the SLPP is spreading rumours in an organized manner with the intention of gaining political mileage.
