The Galle District Returning Officer Somaratne Vidanapathirana said that he believes that the results of the Elpitiya PS election will be released before 10 pm tonight.
Casting votes for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election commenced at 07.00 am today. The voting will be held at 47 polling stations till 4:00 pm.
A total of 53,384 voters are eligible to vote at today’s poll. From the 28 members 17 will be elected according to electoral wards while the rest will be chosen based on Proportional Representation (PR), as per the Local Government Elections laws.
