Strong winds: Naval and fishing communities warned to be vigilant

The Meteorological Department has warned naval and fishing communities to be vigilant following weather advisory that was issued earlier today warning of strong winds.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and Galle and Matara districts and fairly heavy falls about 75 mm are likely at some places in these areas.

The Met. Department said seas off Hikkaduwa to Galle and Matara will experience winds of 60-70 kmph while other sea areas will experience winds of about 50-55 kmph.
