Seven Pakistanis get life sentences for heroin

Seven Pakistanis, including one woman, who pleaded guilty for smuggling, processing and racketeering in heroin to Sri Lanka were sentenced to life imprisonment by Negombo High Court on August 28.

These suspects pleaded guilty to all the charges connected with smuggling, processing and racketeering in heroin to Sri Lanka.

They were arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and produced before the Negombo High Court. Among them are four Pakistanis who were arrested by the Sri Lanka Customs and later handed over to the PNB for the further investigations.

The convicts sentenced to life imprisonment are: Andul Kashif, Khan Abbas, Ikram Muhammed, Muhammed Nadeem, Qadir Sahabzada, Shakir Muhammed and Qadir Faiza Ali.
