Round Table & Ladies Circle Sri Lanka raises over LKR 10 Million globally towards Easter Sunday Attack Victims

Round Table which is networked across the world with over 35,000 members is a non-political, non-sectarian association open to young men between the ages of 18 and 40, from any profession or trade. The objects of the association are the encouragement of high ethical standards in commercial life, the promotion of fellowship amongst young professional and business men, and to “empower each individual to make a positive impact at home, work and in his community’’. On this note, the club together with Ladies Circle Sri Lanka raised over LKR 10 Million globally towards the Easter Sunday Attacks Victims. Speaking at the recent AGM, the National President for the year 2019/20, Tharindu Ameresekere emphasized his commitment to take the values and benefits of tabling to all parts of the country and to transform Round Table into a more meaningful contributor to the society. His theme for the year ‘Go Beyond’ further explains the importance of unity through diversity. With a member and prospect base of over 125 in Sri Lanka, the Tablers took on the challenging role of hosting of the ‘World Meeting’ for the year 2018/19 which saw over 600 Tablers from over 34 country’s attending and experiencing Sri Lanka for a period of over 5 days. The event today has given a fair edge to further boost Tourism in Sri Lanka. Round Table has raised millions of dollars through the years. With the involvement of the entire tabling community getting together to support Sri Lanka during the Tsunami, they were also able to raise over 2.2 Million Euros which was donated towards building schools as part of their community service. Round Table together with Ladies Circle, 41ers Club & Tangents club forms the Side by Side associations consortia. The phrase “adopt, adapt, improve” is the slogan of Round Table Sri Lanka and while Ladies Circle Sri Lanka follows ‘Friendship & Service’. Membership is based only on invitation.
