A gazette notification signed by the chairman of the Elections commission has been issued naming Manoj Sirisena as an elected member to serve as a Southern Provincial councillor. He will be sworn in as the new SLFP MP for the Matara District.
The signatories of the gazette denoted that the Secretary General of Parliament had informed the Elections Commission of the vacancy due to the passing of MP Gajadeera Chandrasiri.
