Sri Lanka needs a young, energetic and visionary president who does not have any racial or religious bias, such as Sajith Premadasa. We are promoting his nomination, said Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology Minister Ajith P.Perera.
He was speaking after opening the digital library of the Batticaloa public library under the theme, ‘Digital Libraries for Knowledge Enhancement’.
The Digital Library is launched at a cost 10 million. The launch was organised by the National Library and Documentation Services Board along with the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka. Batticaloa Mayor Thiagaraja Saravanapavan presided over the ceremony.
“When I was Electricity State Minister in 2010 during the tenure of Batticaloa Government Agent P.S.M. Charles, Batticaloa people consumed a very little electricity and we increased the supply at her requests,” the Minister said.
“If Sajith Premadasa becomes President, he will serve the North, East, West, South and Central equally. Poverty exists in the whole island, not only in North and East. He will definitely resolve the problem of the down-trodden people,” he said.
He said everyone knows Gotabhaya and what he has done during his brothers’ presidency. “Sajith is a people’s man and he understands their problems. Our idea is to bring young blood into the political mainstream,” the Minister said.
TNA Parliamentarians G.Srinesan and S.Yogesweran, Deputy Mayor K.Sathiyaseelan, Batticaloa Municipal Councilor K.Cithravel, Senior ICTA Consultant Indika Dezoysa, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology Waruna Danapala, Deputy Commissioner N.Thananseyan and Councillors were present.
