“I will contest the upcoming Presidential Election if Muslim intellectuals and Muslim political parties and representatives give the go-ahead, former Eastern Province Governor Dr. M.L.A.M. Hizbullah said.
“Many Muslim political parties and intellectuals have requested me to contest the upcoming Presidential polls. After discussions with all the political parties and intellectuals, my decision on this matter will be announced shortly,” he said.
“This year’s Presidential Election will be the toughest one as more than two candidates will contest. Some political parties are still in discussion to decide on their candidate to contest the upcoming Presidential polls.”
“We do not know which election is going to be held first. It may be the Provincial Council Elections or the Presidential Election. However, my decision in connection with the Presidential Election will be announced in due course,” Hizbullah said.
