Emergency Regulation extended till Aug 22

President Maithripala Sirisena by way of an extraordinary Gazette notification released today has extended Emergency Regulation until August 22nd.

The emergency regulation which was put in place in the aftermath of the terror attacks on Easter Sunday on April 21 has been extended periodically. In the gazette notification, the President declares that it is in the interest of public security given the prevailing situation in the country.
