One person was killed on the spot and another two were seriously injured after an armed gang had opened fire on them at a party in Lunugamwehera on Thursday night.
The victim who had succumbed was identified as Hiththatiya Gamage Lakshman Prasad (27) a resident of Allagala in Tissamaharamaya. The other two victims who had received serious gun shot injuries were admitted to hospital.
Police said the shooting occurred following a dispute between two groups at a party.
