Rishad’s NCM in Order Book : No date fixed

The No-Confidence Motion (NCM) against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen has been included in the Parliament Order Book as a motion for which no date has been fixed.

UPFA MP Udaya Gammanpila on Thursday handed the NCM against Minister Bathiudeen over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya with the signatures of 64 MPs.

The NCM has been published in the Addendum to the Order Book issued last Friday, and a date for the debate is to be fixed after discussing it at the Party Leaders’ Meeting chaired by the Speaker.

The NCM has listed 10 allegations against Industry and Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Cooperative Development and Vocational Training and Skills Development Minister Bathiudeen.

The motion says that there is no confidence in the competence of Minister Bathiudeen to function as a Cabinet Minister any longer due his alleged connections with the terrorists linked to the Easter Sunday attacks.
