SLFP activists join UNP

A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) activists, including the Kurunegala District SLFP Organiser A.A.A. Latheef, have joined the United National Party (UNP).

Twenty-one candidates who contested the Dodangaslanda local government elections are among them. They had obtained the UNP membership following a discussion with the UNP Secretary-General and Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

Kurunegala District SLFP Organiser A.A.A. Latheeef said that his group made this decision as they were fed up with the policies of the SLFP

“We extend our unconditional support to the work carried out by the UNP for the benefit of the people,” he added.
