Minister to conduct inquiry over inconveniences faced by newspaper Editors

Non-Cabinet Minister of Mass Media Ruwan Wijewardene is to conduct an investigation into the inconveniences faced by several newspaper Editors at the Presidential Media Awards Ceremony held at the BMICH yesterday. It was reported that several newspaper Editors were inconvenienced due to improper seating arrangements by the organisers.

The Chief Guest, President Maithripala Sirisena had been informed by those inconvenienced in this regard and accordingly, the subject minister has undertaken to conduct an inquiry.

This was the country’s first Presidential Media Awards Ceremony that was organised by the Ministry of Mass Media.
