Cabinet nod for three companies to supply 100 mw

Cabinet approval has been granted to contract three foreign companies to supply an additional 100 megawatts of electricity for six months to tide over the current power crisis.

Cabinet approval had also been granted earlier to purchase an additional capacity of 100 megawatts.

In keeping with the recommendations of the Cabinet appointed permanent procurement committee, Aggreco International of UK will be granted a contract to supply 24 megawatts to the Pallekelle grid substation and 10 megawatts to the Galle substation at Rs 30.63 per kilowatt.

Altaaga Alternative solution Global FZE of UAE will be offered a contract to supply eight megawatts to the Polonnaruwa grid substation at Rs. 30.63 per kilowatt and 10 megawatts to the Mahiyangana grid substation at Rs. 30.58 per kilowatt.
