Two arrested for defrauding millions

Two were arrested for defrauding money from several people on the pretense of providing employment in Japan.

They were arrested during the raid conducted on the company that is located in Battaramulla by the Foreign Employment Bureau (FEB).

FEB has discovered 13 passports, copies of passports, coloured photographs, applications for employment, cash receipts, notices of job vacancies and various other documents during the raid.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Polonnaruwa and Thalangama.

It was further revealed that, many people had paid 1.2 million in order to gain employment in Japan.

Arrestees are due to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrates Court today.
