A 62-year-old person was found murdered in Urugasmanhandiya.
The victim had attended a wedding in the area and the body was discovered lying near the house where the function was held, said the police.
The reason for the murder has not been revealed so far. There were several wounds seen on his corpse.
A post mortem was to be carried out by the relevant officials.
Further investigations are being conducted.
