Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo will screen the award winning Hindi film ‘Mrityudand’ on March 8 at 3 pm at SVCC auditorium 16/2, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7. Entrance free and seating is on first come first served basis.
The film will be screened to celebrate International Women’s Day. ‘Mirtyudand’ is written, directed and produced by Prakash Jha and stars Madhuri Dixit, Shabana Azmi and Om Puri in lead roles. The film is a commentary on the social and gender injustice. The film has bagged the Best Director award for Prakash Jha at the Zee Cine Awards (1998), and the Special Jury Award for Best Feature Film at Cinéma Tout Ecran, Geneva (1998).
