GMOA, 17 grades demand vehicle permits

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) in a letter to President Maithripala Sirisena said it will strike if its demands are not met in two weeks.

The GMOA lamented that the Budget 2019 did not include even a single proposal forwarded by the GMOA.

GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said the Joint Committee of the Executive Officers of the public service will also launch trade union action along with the GMOA.Officers in 17 grades will take the trade union action.”It seems that public servants will never be able to obtain vehicle permits even after March this year. This is a serious issue and ignoring one of the demands presented by the GMOA and the Joint Committee of the Executive Officers in the Public Service,” he added
