Excise inspectors attached to the Matara Excise Station seized a consignment of foreign liquor worth Rs. 200,000 near the Mirissa fisheries harbour.
The excise officials said the liquor was brought to be sold to foreigners participating in a beach party at Mirissa beach.
The consignment had 60 bottles of wine manufactured in Italy.
