Five individuals were arrested when they were attempting to flee in a stolen van along the Ranala Janasavi road in Nawagamuwa.
The arrest was made in an operation conducted by the police organized crime and corruption prevention division.
The police said that the owner of the van was also found inside the van with his hands tied.
The suspects were aged 38, 30, 31 and 28 and identified as residents of Kataragama, Meegoda, Narammala,Ranala, Embilipitiya.
They are to be produced before the Homagama Magistrate Courts today.
