The Agriculture Export Crop Department has launched several home garden cultivation programmes in Hambantota under the Dana Saviya project.
A total of 875,800 cinnamon plant nurseries for 1,700 home gardens were set up.
Plant nurseries have been set up for pepper, ginger, and citronella home garden cultivations as well.
Sources at the Agriculture Export Crop Department said 217 training programmes were launched to train 10,199 would-be cultivators of home gardens.
