AMCHAM Holds Roundtable Discussion on U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy

The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka held a closed-door roundtable discussion recently with Thomas L. Vajda, Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, U.S. Department of State. The meeting was also attended by Her Excellency, U.S. Ambassador for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Alaina B. Teplitz along with other key officials from the U.S. Embassy and AMCHAM as well. The roundtable discussion, held with AMCHAM member companies, explored new opportunities to expand economic partnerships and investments and two-way trade in the Indo-Pacific, specifically between the United States and Sri Lanka. Founded in 1992, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Sri Lanka celebrates 27 years of bringing together US companies as well as local companies doing business with the US. AmCham is seen as one of the most dynamic and influential business chambers in the country, promoting activities that would encourage and stimulate investment by US companies, supporting the ongoing business operations of its members and encouraging bilateral trade between the US and Sri Lanka.
