Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne had given instructions for SPC Chairman Dr. Rumi Mohammad to offer five percent discount for drugs issued to clergy through all SPC outlets, Health Ministry spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, five percent discount has already been given for drugs purchased from all SPC outlets offered to pregnant mothers, children under the age of five, elderly above the age of 55.
The five percent discount for drugs also given to the War hero privileged card holdres as a recognition of their service done for the country he said.
Minister Senaratne opened the 42nd outlet of the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticles Corporation (SPC) at Matale recently. There are SPC outlets in most of the areas of the country at the moment and the network of outlets is now being expanded, he added.
