Prevailing showery condition is expected to continue today,said the Department of Meteorology.
Showers will occur at times in Eastern, Uva, North-Central and Central provinces and several spells of showers will occur in Northern Province and in Hambantota district.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Western, Central, North-central and Eastern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 kmph can be expected over North-western, Northern and Southern provinces.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
