The Officer in Charge of the Anti Corruption Unit of Police in Puttlam , had received serious injuries and was hospitalized after he was shot by a trap gun during a raid of an illicit liquor brewery spot in a thick jungle in Anamaduwa police division yesterday evening.
According to the police media, it was further enlighten that the Officer in Charge of the Anti Corruption Unit of Police in Puttlam, Sub Inspector Maduranga Halabage was admitted to the Government Base Hospital in Aaanamaduwa soon after the incident and later he was transferred to the Government Base Hospital in Puttlam.
According to the hospital sources, the right leg below the knee, of the O.I.C. was seriously injured due to the gun wound. The police further believe that the trap gun was set by some of the hunters, with the intention of hunting animals in the jungle.
However, the officials attached to the Aanamaduwa police station have launched a special investigation , in order to capture the suspects ,who had set the trap gun in the jungle. Further police investigations with connection to the incident, are being continued.
