Patriots should rally round SLFP to defeat traitors – President

All patriots should rally round the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) to make it a powerful peoples’ movement in the next three months to defeat all forces working against the country, President Maithripala Sirisena said.

The President was speaking at the opening of the new SLFP district office at No. 65, Ananda Rajakaruna Mawatha, Colombo 10.

The President said the requirement today was not to defeat political parties or political leaders but to correctly identify forces working against the country and defeat them. President Sirisena said 2019 was an election year where a new government could be formed. He said the SLFP has a history of defending the country against its enemies and all patriots should join to prepare the SLFP for future challenges ahead.

MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara also addressed the gathering.

Religious leaders, SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera MP, Senior Vice President Nimal Siripala De Silva MP, Mahinda Amaraweera MP, S.B.Dissanayake MP, Faizer Mustapha MP, Dilan Pereran MP, Sudarshani Fernandopulle MP, SLFP Colombo District leader Thilanga Sumathipala MP were present.
