National Government proposal will not be presented today

The United National Front has decided not to present the proposal for a national government to the parliament today. This decision has been taken after a special discussion with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe last night.

Lakshman Kiriella, Leader of the House, has proposed to debate on the proposal of forming a National Government today. However, the United National Party had decided to take up the debate at the House today, despite objections.

Meanwhile, Chief Government Whip Gayantha Karunathilake yesterday had informed all parliamentarians of the ruling party that it is mandatory for them to vote in favour of the proposal of the national government.
