The Indian government grants a sum of 335.7 million

The Indian government is going to grant a sum of Rs 335.7 million to Suwami Vipulananda aesthetic department of the Eastern University.

The MoU in this regard was signed by Secretary to the Town Planning Water Supply and Higher Education Ministry M.M.P.K. Mayadunne and Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Tharanjith Sindu Singh recently at the Higher Education Ministry Auditorium.   

Addressing the gathering Town Planning Water Supply and Higher Education Minister Rauff Hakeem said that the Suwami Vipulananda aesthetic department will be face lifted so as to suit the modern day requirements in the education sector.
The centre, which offers four undergraduate programmes by now will introduce two new undergraduate courses in the future.

The discussions in this regard are going on now to introduce the two new undergraduate courses, he said.

Around 230 students are admitted annually to the department and this amount will be increased with the introduction of new courses.
