‘The country will be redeemed from the Rajapaksa triple fear (Thunbiya) this year,’ Megapolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said in a Twitter message yesterday.
The message said a powerful coalition made up of several parties including the SLFP, UNP and many others will be formed this year for this purpose. It will redeem the country from the Mahinda, Basil and Gotabhaya triple fear which sold the Army Headquarters property to foreigners and pocketed the proceeds, laundered money in foreign countries by purchasing MIG Jets for the Air Force, defrauded millions by vesting the Navy’s maritime security arm with Avant Garde, placed the country in a debt trap by undertaking development projects the country could ill afford and engaged in feudal politics by preventing anyone other than their family members from rising up to prestigious positions.
The message said the new coalition will dedicate itself towards building a new and vibrant country in 2020 and beyond which will be free of family bandyism and powered by new inventions giving pride of place to talents and skills.
