The Minister added that the price of a litre of milk has increased from 50 to 70 rupees per two years at a cost of Rs. 70 and that it is necessary to increase milk production by commencing fresh milk training programs.
The minister advised the officials to take measures to install new milk chilling centers including Pulmoddai, Eppawala, Weli Oya Rambewa, and large scale dairy farmers to milk Milco.
The Yogurt and Ice Cream industry will increase the local dairy consumption by strengthening the dairy farmer, and the company should be constantly keen on this and officials should work hard to achieve targeted revenue in 2019, he said.
