Two suspects who had attempted to smuggle 304 tortoises and 86 crabs illegally have been taken into custody.
The two suspects were arrested yesterday night at the airport premises, police spokesman's office said.
The suspects are 35-year-old and 38-year-old residents of Rambukkana and Kekirawa.
The suspects are to be produced before the Negombo magistrate court today and the police are conducting further investigations.
