The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by President Maithripala Sirisena in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to secure Rs. 33.4 million for reconstruction and renovation of the three-storey building where Ahangama Police Station is functioning.

Revising Value Added Tax to grant tax relief

The proposal presented by Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera to amend the Value Added Tax Act No.14 of 2002 to reintroduce tax release for importing air buses and accessories, sawn timber, textiles and bran oil and enable the minister to determine the value added tax base with respect to some goods to protect government revenue.

Construction of Motor Vehicle and Power System Laboratory at Moratuwa University Engineering Faculty

Raiffecisem Bank International AG of Austria has agreed to provide a soft loan scheme for the implementation of this project. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Rauff Hakeem to implement Kirindioya water purification plant improvement project with an investment of Rs. 298 million facilitating 703 families in 18 model villages in Lunugamwehera and Tissamaharama Divisional Secretariats.
