Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe while delivering a special statement in Parliament said that a populist budget will be presented for this year despite the hardships, today.
He also briefed the House on the financial position of the country and the repayment of loans.
The Prime Minister further said that discussions are being held with the international for strengthening the rupee.
Meanwhile, UPFA Member of Parliament Dr. Bandula Gunawardena asked for a debate on the present financial situation of the country.
Meanwhile Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa questioned about the conditions of the loan obtained from India.
