The President chaired a special meeting with the Secretaries to all ministries at the Presidential Secretariat this morning, the President’s Media Division said.
During the meeting, President Maithripala Sirisena instructed all Ministry Secretaries to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of public service. This despite the Court of Appeal issuing an interim order restraining the respondents from functioning as the prime minister, cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, and state ministers.
The Statement adds that the President has instructed the Public Sector, Tri-Forces, and the Police to continue their service towards national security and fulfill their duties and responsibilities towards the public.
