Vegetable Chop Suey

The necessary accompaniment for every Sri Lankanized Chinese meal! Check out how to make vegetable chop suey below.



Ingredients:

• Beans 100g
• Salad cucumber 50g
• Young corn 50g
• Mushrooms 50g
• Onion 1 large
• Carrot 100g
• Young corn 50g
• Garlic 3 cloves
• Salt ½ tsp
• Vegetable stock/chicken stock 1 cup
• Oil 1 tbsp
• Pepper ¼ tsp
• Soy sauce 1 ½ tsp
• Sesame oil ¼ tsp
• Cabbage 50g
• Sugar 1 tsp
• Water 2 cups

Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan, and add garlic, onion, mushrooms, carrots, beans, young corn, and cucumber.
2. Add salt, pepper, and vegetable/chicken stock and water. Cook on a low flame for 5 minutes.
3. Add cabbage, soy sauce, sugar, and corn flour.
4. Finally, add sesame oil.
(Make sure to not overcook the vegetables)
