Tangalle Chief Magistrate Lilan Thilantha Warusawithana recently remanded an orderly at the Tangalle Base Hospital who had allegedly attempted to extort Rs.1.5 million from a doctor, until Novemner 28. Police said the suspect had allegedly threatened the lives of the doctor’s children through a phone call before making the demand.
