JSC to transfer Bond scam case

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake yesterday informed that the Judicial Service Commission has decided to transfer the Bond Scam case to the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.

Meanwhile, Perpetual Treasuries Ltd. beneficiary owner Arjun Aloysius and its CEO Kasun Palisena were also ordered to be re-remanded till December 4 by the Magistrate over the magisterial inquiry in which they were accused of aiding and abetting and conspiring with Arjuna Mahendran allegedly to misappropriate public funds worth of Rs. 688 million during the Bond auction held on February 27, 2015.

Aloysius and Palisena were also re-remanded by the Fort Magistrate till December 4 over the parallel magisterial inquiry conducted relating to the Bond issue on deleting phone call data from Perpetual Treasuries' voice recording system and fabricating evidence to the Bond Commission.

Additional Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda, Senior Deputy Solicitor General Haripriya Jayasundara with Senior State Counsel Lakmini Girihagama appeared for the Attorney General. President’s Counsel Upul Jayasuriya appeared on behalf of the witnesses. President’s Counsel Anil Silva appeared for Arjun Aloysius and AttorneyJeewantha Jayathilake appeared for Kasun Palisena. President’s Counsel Wasantha Navarathne Bandara with Raneela Senadheera and Chanithi Athauda appeared for Counsel Chandana Perera.
