Wariyapola Magistrate Darshana Silva fined a businessman Rs.7,500 for selling food unfit for human consumption, recently. The suspect had pleaded guilty to the charges.
The goods consisted of 5,000kg of rice, 1,325kg wheat flour, 275kg lentils, 15kg dried fish, 800kg of sugar worth over Rs.1 million.
