Court permits to check phone calls

Panadura Additional Magistrate Kalhari Liyanage granted permission to Bandaragama Police Crime Branch to check telephone calls over the investigations into the murder of a foreign woman.

The woman had not been identified yet.

The head of the woman was found by Bandaragama Police from a shrub jungle near the Bolgoda Bridge on September 6. On the same day, Sevanagala Police Crime Branch recovered the torso, with hands and legs slashed, from Kiriebbanara Lake in Sevanagala.

Sevanagala Police and Bandaragama Police are investigating the murder of the unidentified foreign woman.

Last week, Bandaragama Police obtained court permission to conduct a DNA test to identify the deceased.
