A 23-year-old youth riding a motorcycle died in an accident near the 73 kilometre post along the Dambulla – Kurunegala road on Saturday evening.
The motorcycle and a van collided, after which the motorcycle collided with a car. The accident took place when the van that was running towards Kurunegala turned to a by-road on the right side.
The deceased, Nawaratne Mudiyanselage Geenath Sumedha Nawaratne, a resident of the Kalugala Bambaragaswewa area was pronounced dead on admission to the Galewela Hospital.
The drivers of the van and the car have been arrested by the Galewela Police.
