A group of train commuters held a demonstration at the Pothuhera train station yesterday evening which resulted in a tense situation.
According to the Railway Control Room, these commuters have expressed their displeasure against a delay of a train.
The commuters have complained that the delay of the Colombo bound train from Kurunegala has become a common occurrence. According to the Railway Control Room sources, there are two trains, one intercity and one regular, which operated on a single line, hence the delay.
Following the protest, the commuters dispersed. Railway Control Room sources said that the train service returned to normal.
