CDF officer killed in Mullegama

It was revealed that the cause of death related to the soldier attached to the Civil Defence Force (CDF) in Mullegama in Inginiyagala on October 8, was not due to a bear attack but a murder.

This was revealed at the post mortem held at the Ampara Hospital that the victim had been shot to death.

The officer, Ravindra Thusitha Kumara 38, a resident of Mullegama, was found dead by his relatives in a chena in Mullegama and lodged a complaint about the incident.

It was revealed that the victim was shot twice and had succumbed to his injuries. According to the JMO report, the first bullet had entered through the victim's chin, while the victim had succumbed from the second gun shot.

Inginiyagala Police are conducting investigations to arrest those responsible for the murder.
