Pakistani arrested with nearly Rs. 50 m worth heroin

A Pakistani national was arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) yesterday morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), while attempting to smuggle a stock of heroin into the country.

According to Police the stock of heroin is valued at around Rs.50 million.

The Police Media Spokesman’s Office told the Daily News that the 40-year-old suspect had arrived in the country from Lahore, Pakistan around 7.30 last morning and he had concealed the drugs in a false bottom of his luggage. Upon inspection of his luggage, the PNB officers had discovered the stock of heroin amounting to 4 kg and 186 grams.
