Battle With The Best At The Mercantile eSports Championship 2018

Just because you’re good on the corporate battlefield, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be a slouch when you’re gaming either. This is where the Mercantile eSports Championship 2018 comes into play (literally). Organized by GamerLK and powered by Dialog Gaming, the Mercantile eSports Championship 2018 will take place on the 21st and 22nd of July 2018 at Trace Expert City Maradana.

What exactly is the Mercantile eSports Championship 2018?

Well, as the name suggests, this is an eSports tournament open to all corporate employees across Sri Lanka. Held for the third consecutive year, the Mercantile eSports Championship first saw Virtusa emerge victorious together with strong performances by Millenium IT, 99X Technology and CAKE Labs. 2017 too saw Virtusa emerge as the victors, claiming the title for the second consecutive year.

What games are available at the Mercantile eSports Championship 2018?

Games at the Mercantile eSports Championship consist of both single player and multiplayer games. The latter also means that you have to work on your communication skills and teamwork as well. If you already have a strong bond with your team mates, then you have one less thing to worry about.

Having trouble communicating with the team? You might want to look into that if you want to stand a chance at winning the championship. The games available are as follows:

Team Game Titles

  • Call of Duty 4 (PC)
  • DOTA 2 (PC)
  • League of Legends (PC)
  • Counter Strike: Global Offensive (PC)
  • Overwatch (PC)
  • Special Force 2 (PC)

Individual Game titles

  • FIFA 18 (PS4)
  • Mortal Kombat XL (PC)
  • Project Cars (PC)
  • Tekken 7 (PC)
  • Clash Royale (mobile)

Women’s League Game titles

  • Mortal Kombat XL (PC)
  • Mariokart 8 (Nintendo Switch)
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted (PC)

Being a part of the Mercantile eSports Championship 2018?

Teams were required to pay a registration fee of LKR 500 per person. For a team of 5 players, this would be Rs. 2,500/-. In the case of games such as Overwatch where it’s a 6-member team, the registration fee would be LKR 3000/- per team.

If you are a FriMi user, you are also eligible for an exclusive offer when registering. Payments are to be made only at the Registration Desk on the day of the Tournament. Thus far, 74 teams from corporate offices across Sri Lanka have registered for the Mercantile eSports Championship 2018. Registrations have also closed and the draws for the games have been drawn up. This means that if you have registered for a game, you’ll know exactly when and what time your match is. You can view the draws by clicking here.
