Negombo Excise officers had arrested 37 suspects possessing a 40-gram stock of heroin during a two-day raid operation in the Minuwangoda, Devalapola and Naiwala areas, recently. The seized haul was reported to be worth Rs. 100,000, Negombo OIC Roshan Perera said. The suspects were later produced before the Negombo and Minuwangoda Magistrates and fined a total sum of Rs. 197,500.
