About 600 patients who had tested positive for Thalassaemia from the Kurunegala district recently , are currently receiving medical treatment at government hospitals in the district, North Western Provincial Health Director Dr. M. Fareed told the Daily News, recently.
They had been detected from the Galgamuwa, Nikaweratiya, Polpithigama, Kuliyapitiya and Ibbagamuwa MOH divisional areas of the Kurunegala district, the provincial health director added.
