Rs. 200,000 fine for bird eggs snatcher

A person who had broken a nest and taken 110 eggs of a bird called 'Batukesbewa', which is in danger of extinction, was fined Rs. 200,000 by Angunakolapelessa Magistrate Kushika Kumara last week. The suspect had committed the offence at the beach stretch of Killawatawana, Ranna.

The officials of the Wildlife Department at Kalametiya arrested the suspect and produced him before the Angunakolapleesa Magistrate.
